OVERVIEW
SYNC, a social network designed specifically for students. The goal was to help students connect, share academic resources and study together in real-time. We wanted to create a space that felt supportive, interactive, and easy to use. The platform included features like user profiles, posts, and a live study room. It was a group project where each team member had a specific role to play.
Responsibilities
I was responsible for both designing and developing the platform. On the development side, I built the front-end using HTML, CSS , JavaScript and PHP. We used GitHub to collaborate and manage our code, which helped us stay organized and track changes.
Challenges
One of the biggest challenges was building the Live Room feature. This allowed students to join study sessions in real time, which involved complex interactions. It was difficult to make it work smoothly and feel intuitive. We had to learn new ways and figure out how to manage the live updates.
Outcome
We successfully built a working prototype of SYNC with key features like posting, profiles and the Live Room. The feedback we received was very positive and I gained hands-on experience in design and front-end development. It also helped me learn how to collaborate effectively in a team setting. Overall, the project showed how design and tech can come together to support students in meaningful ways.
